It has three teerian Himalayan, Hilly, and Terai. It includes the world’s largest Mountain, Mount Everest, as well as Kangchenjunga. The Capital of Koshi Province is Biratnagar, which is known as a major industrial and commercial hub. The Province consists of 14 districts. Agriculture, tourism, hydropower, and trade form the backbone of its economy. With tea gardens of Ilam, ancient heritage sites, wildlife reserves like Koshi Tappu, and a strong connection to both nature and tradition,

Koshi Province stands as one of Nepal’s most vibrant and dynamic regions. Before the constitution of Nepal 2072, there was no provincial system in Nepal, but after the constitution of Nepal 2072, Nepal was divided into 7 provinces. Koshi Province was originally known as Province No. 1. Later on, on 1 March 2023, the province was officially renamed Koshi Province, taking its name from the Koshi River.
