The Government of Nepal has published the list of Holidays of Year 2082 in which includes 17 public holidays (National Festival).

Dashain and Tihar Holidays
Dashain:
The main festival of Nepal is celebrated for 15 days (Ghatasthapana, Phulpati, Maha Ashtami, Maha Nawami, Vijaya Dashami are the major days of this festival), for which the Nepal Government has given a holiday from Ashoj 13, Monday to Ashoj 18, Saturday. Dashain is celebrated in the victory of good over evil. In this festival, all the family members gather, put on tika-jamara, from elders, and receive blessings, and in some communities, animals are also sacrificed.
Tihar:
The Second biggest festival of Nepal is Tihar. It is also known as the festival of lights and is celebrated for 5 days. In this festival, people worship animals and nature like Kag Tihar (crow), Kukur Tihar (dog), Gai Tihar (cow) & Laxmi Puja, Govardhan Puja, and Bhai Tika. In Tihar Houses decorated with lights, diyos, and rangoli. This festival is celebrated to show love, prosperity, and the special bond between brothers and sisters. For this festival, the Nepal Government has given a holiday from Kartik 3, Monday to Kartik 7, Friday.
