Brief introduction to Tesla

Tesla is a Giant American-based technology company founded by Elon Musk and his team in 2003. Tesla is famous for its Innovation in technology and other sectors. Tesla’s main priority is the integration of tech in the entire sector.

Adding to this, Tesla is also famous for its Electric Vehicle (EV). They produce their batteries in-house, so that they can make it better for customers and provide good comfort in terms of luxury and other things. Tesla has been producing electric cars like the Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y, which have a huge fan base all over the world due to their stylish looks, design, comfort, and other supporting factors. Tesla is also in the race to build solar energy products and battery storage systems. The company is very promising in its aim to speed up the sustainable energy in the world.

Tesla Coming to India

Finally, after a long years of wait, Tesla is coming to INDIA. Founder of the Tesla company, Elon Musk, is officially launching in India on July 15, 2025. The company is also opening its first Tesla Experience Centre in Mumbai at Bandra Kurla Complex

India and Tesla were working on this for many years. Earlier this year, after meet up of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Elon Musk in America, has sealed the deal and both signed the contract for lease for the Mumbai Centre and started shipping Model Y cars.

Tesla also focused on India after the change in India’s electric vehicle (EV) policy in February 2024. The Indian Government reduced the import tax for EV companies to invest at least  $500 million in India itself, but Tesla was sourcing cars before and expected to invest about $2.5 billion in 2025.

However, the Tesla car will be higher in price due to a 70% import duty as Tesla won’t be building cars in India. Currently, Tesla sales in falling all over the world, and in this situation, Tesla won’t be setting up a factory over here; instead company is planning to import fully built cars in India, which ultimately increases the price.

Let’s hope the Indian customers will not have to pay a high amount to enjoy the ride in Tesla Cars.
