The Indian Government reduced the import tax for EV companies to invest at least  $500 million in India itself, but Tesla was sourcing cars before and expected to invest about $2.5 billion in 2025.

However, the Tesla car will be higher in price due to a 70% import duty as Tesla won’t be building cars in India. Currently, Tesla sales in falling all over the world, and in this situation, Tesla won’t be setting up a factory over here; instead company is planning to import fully built cars in India, which ultimately increases the price.
